Our dentists, Dr. Buddy Hollowell and Dr. Allen Porter have completed specialty training in pediatric dentistry once they graduated from dental school. They are both passionate about providing children with the dental care they need to enjoy a beautiful smile and healthy teeth. You can count on our dentists to make your child’s time at the dentist office fun rather than nerve-racking.
During your child’s checkup, you can expect us to thoroughly examine their mouth to look for any cavities or other issues that are present or forming. We will also educate your child on how to properly brush and floss their teeth so that they know what it takes to prevent dental related problems.
Once your child’s mouth has been examined, we will clean their teeth in order to remove any plaque and calculus that may lead to tooth decay and gum disease. After their teeth have been cleaned, we will apply a fluoride treatment in order to strengthen their teeth and make them more resistant to tooth decay.
Your child will likely need X-rays taken once a year. The X-rays will allow our dentists to see their upper and lower back teeth in one view. They are used to look for decay and show how the teeth line up and are a very effective in identifying dental problems early.
