Establishing a “Dental Home”
The American Dental Association (ADA), The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and Triangle Pediatric Dentistry encourage establishing a “dental home” for your child by age one. A dental home at an early age can help instill good habits in children that can prevent dental issues in the future. It will also give you as a parent easy access to a dentist in the event that your or your child has a question or a dental emergency arises.
Preparing Your Child for a First Visit
As a parent, you can take certain steps to prepare your child for their first trip to our office. If they are old enough, it’s best to inform them of the visit and reinforce that the dentist will explain all procedures while answering any questions.
